Our blog is meant to document our trip through Europe during the summer of 2010 as we make our way towards Australia for a year's sabbatical. It's an attempt to stay in touch with family and friends, to avoid Facebook, to remember our experiences, and to facilitate mild home schooling for the children.

Warwick Castle
It's now owned by Madame Tussaud's. Really? The person who changed its character in this terrible way should be sentenced to spend 6 weeks in the castle oubliette. I guess it's fine--the kids loved it (gruesome dungeons, ye olde Renaissance faire jousting, wax figures in inappropriate positions, lots of costumed actors). The views from the turrets haven't changed and are still breathtaking (as are the winding stairs). Thirteenth-century castle in almost pristine condition--sigh.
